Quick Update

Hey all!  Some questions popped up and I am here to clarify them.  I've been running like crazy and holding meeting and things are proceeding nicely and finally have a moment to answer all the questions I've been asked.  If your still have questions, comment or email us.





Is this just a place to spend more money and buy stuff?


Not really, all the game systems are setup to be played on for free, the only fee is getting in the door.  There will be stuff to buy if you want, a place for rare collectors, some original Alaskan made games, but as of now, no everything is just a free gaming day, you are only paying a fee for a headcount and to help pay for the room.


You say it starts at 12.  12 when?


Yeah I write fast, It was supposed to be 12PM to 10PM.  10 hours in the afternoon.


Is this the entire Egan Center?


No, it's just one room, the Cook Hall on the far left of the main doors for now.


Why not the whole thing?


With only 4-5 months to plan and watching several other game events bomb, I'm taking small steps.  If this event goes well, then yes, we'll make this an annual thing and even plan a bigger event next year.


How many people can you hold?


Little over 500.


What happens when you reach that limit?


No one else will be allowed to go in.  For safety, insurance and fire code reasons, we can only have so many people inside.  We should be fine this year, but that's the true point of getting a ticket early.  No one just 'shows up' and gets into Comicon or PAX.  But currently we are small enough to where you shouldn't have a problem getting in.


Will there be any other tournaments?


Absolutely. The entire point is to have fun, but what's the point if there aren't little fun events as well?


What events will be on the stage area?


Well we want to do announcements of course, I've been pressured to do a cosplay contest of course, I'm excited about doing a crazy video game "Game Show" with weird questions and challenges just because, and we are always interested in ideas an talent as well.


Dang straight you better have a cosplay event, what do you mean Game Show and Talent?


The game show will be setup a lot like "win ben stein's money" or "beat the geeks" in the sense of challenging others to challenge game gurus for prizes.  Just silly fun.  As for talent, if someone wants to show of gaming skills, has a band that plays cool game music, I'm already talking to a few to see what's what.


Have you contacted (insert local game group here)?


Tried to contact as many groups as possible.  Wanted to get others involved and get all the help I could to make this awesome, however several haven't contacted me so if you are them or know them, have them contact me and we'll chat.
